In May, the Kumano Kodo is at its most beautiful, wrapped in countless shades of green. The natural forests display a stunning gradient of greenery, while the planted forests stand out with their deep green trees lined up in perfect order. The rice fields are filled with water, reflecting the scenery like a mirror.
Another unique feature of the Kumano Kodo is its misty scenery. The Kii Mountains receive abundant rainfall, making the land rich in water. Here, you can encounter many breathtaking landscapes.

As spring deepens, the animals have also become more active. Lately, we often come across monkeys. I even heard that in the neighborhood, they completely carried off someone’s onions… now that’s a real problem!
For visitors from Europe and America, monkeys seem to be quite rare, and we are often asked, “Don’t they attack you?” From what I’ve heard, monkeys don’t inhabit their regions.

And now for an announcement!
Renovation work on Guesthouse COZY has begun! We’re starting with the demolition of the sections to be renovated. The interior will be almost completely rebuilt. Once everything is cleared out, the space feels so much larger.
The plan is a masterpiece refined through countless revisions. Now is the time to put the knowledge and experience I gained in my previous career to good use here.

To all the craftsmen: "Stay safe!"
The completion is scheduled for around September.
Please look forward to it!
