What is a Guesthouse?

A guesthouse is a type of accommodation that typically uses a traditional house or a small-scale building, where multiple travelers can stay together. Unlike a ryokan, it does not offer fully serviced private rooms with meals and prepared bedding, and unlike a vacation rental, it is not a whole house rented exclusively to one group. More similar to a youth hostel, a guesthouse offers shared spaces such as living rooms and bathrooms, and its greatest feature is the opportunity to enjoy interaction with fellow travelers and the host.

About Our Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is a small, renovated traditional house with a warm, at-home feel. The toilet, bathroom, and dining area are shared, creating a cozy environment where guests naturally interact. We also provide dinner, breakfast, and lunch boxes, so you can enjoy homemade meals while sharing travel stories at the table. We do not offer the luxury of a ryokan or resort, but we hope to be a place where you can truly relax during your Kumano Kodo journey and enjoy meaningful encounters with people along the way.
